Development of Rubbee electric bicycle kit started in 2012. We’ve set out to engineer the ultimate all-in-one e bike kit with the easiest installation process.
We’ve introduced the first version of Rubbee conversion kit to the public. The 1.0 version was launched as a successful campaign on Kickstarter in the summer of 2013.
We’ve launched our own assembly line, built first Rubbee units and shipped them to our first customers. The 1.0 version needed further improvements so we’ve continued developing the electronics, battery technology and motor.
2015 was a big year for us because Rubbee 2.5 version started appearing in bicycle stores around Europe. Customers in Italy, Germany, Spain, France and many other European countries had their local sales agents.
In 2016 we’ve introduced the 3.0 version with Bluetooth and smartphone application connectivity. It had multiple power levels and overhauled motor driver.
In 2017 we’ve stopped producing and selling the Rubbee 3.0 e-bike kit version and focused all our efforts on developing a new product from the ground up.
We’ve showcased Rubbee X in Eurobike 2017. It was the first completely wireless way to make any regular bike electric. Some eyebrows were raised and some jaws were dropped.
In October of 2019 we’ve validated and launched our custom assembly line for Rubbee X e-bike friction drive conversion kits. First test batch was built and multiple reliability tests were carried out to ensure longevity of the device.
As the first commercial batch of Rubbee X e-bike conversion kits was built, we’ve opened our e-store to our first customers. We’re currently selling the latest Rubbee X version on our e-store.
