The Rubbee Drive is a friction drive. It has a rotating drive roller at the back end of the system which directly touches the rear wheel of the bicycle and helps You move forward. Simple.
No it does not. We cast the rollers from a special polyurethane compound mix which guarantees the best contact between the tire and the roller without wearing the tyre too much. But it is still recommended to change your tires after one or two seasons of extensive riding. Safety first!
When You buy Rubbee You get a throttle which mounts on Your bicycle's handlebars. Whenever You want to use our system to power You forward You just push on the throttle and off You go. The power output level is gradually controlled by the user. You can use it when You pedal. You can use it when You don't pedal. It's Your choice.
Another option is to use a PAS sensor instead of a throttle which also comes with the package. The sensor has to mounted on the bicycle's crankshaft and it provides information on when and how much You are pedalling. Rubbee can then control the amount of power needed by knowing when You are pedalling the most.
Oh yes You will. Rubbee is all about making the hills easier to ride into and smooth cruising on the flats. It's very fun to use too.
No, Rubbee does not have regenerative braking because it would require to change Your lovely braking lever on your bike. Besides, the physics does not work in our favour on this question - trying to charge the batteries even a little bit would require braking or pedalling for a very long distance.
Yes! You can change from one bike to another in just a matter of seconds. The only thing You will have to do is to buy an extra throttle so that You would not need to swap throttles every time You want to use Rubbee on a different bicycle. Sharing is caring!
Yes ! It has a rated power of 250 W, top speed of 25 km/h and we include a PAS sensor together with a throttle so You can be street-legal anywhere You use it.
Yes. Our integrated suppression system allows Rubbee to be used even with rear wheel suspension bicycles. It makes sure that the pressure delivered to the rear wheel is always the same even when the geometry of the bicycle is changing.
Rubbee has a very simple attachment. All You have to do is put the attachement element onto the seat tube of Your bicycle and lock the quick release lever. No tools, no screws- it only takes a few seconds.
